Past Involvements of the Eagle River Foundation

EAGLE RIVER WATERSHED COUNCIL
Volunteers gather for a yearly patrol and clean-up along the Eagle River near Edwards, one of many such projects aimed at conserving our valley's considerable water resources. The group also assists with the Eagle Mine Superfund cleanup near the abandoned Gilman ghost town and provides on-going educational programs designed to inform citizens about the value of our area's unique watershed system.

PORCHLIGHT PLAYERS
Porchlight Players was founded in 2004 as a solution to the lack of opportunities in the western end of the Eagle Valley to both attend and participate in live theater.  To date, the Players have completed 18  productions: eight plays/musicals, four free Gypsum Daze shows, and three Summer Children's Theater Camps.



THE RED RIBBON PROJECT
The mission of this local outreach group is to build healthier lives through a comprehensive approach to HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, education and support for everyone in Eagle County. As a part of  its efforts, the  Red Ribbon Project gives presentations in schools and area clubs . Since its inception in 1996, the project has been providing education and awareness to 6th-12th graders in public and privates schools throughout the County.

EAGLE RANCH COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND
A fantasy land for kids, jungle jims never looked so good. The facility is part of a special events center and is within walking distance of Eagle.

EAGLE POOL in conjunction with WECMRD
Eagle's year-round recreation center is highlighted by a state-of-the-art pool and ice rink, which benefited from an Eagle River Foundation grant.

MEDICAL REFERENCE LIBRARY,
Eagle HealthCare Center

Eagle River Foundation Library was founded in November 2007 and is located in the Eagle Valley Medical Center on Sylvan lake Road. Health-related books are available for check-out and on-line research is also on hand to help people in the community with any medical questions or concerns.

GORE RANGE NATURAL SCIENCE SCHOOL
An environmental education school that annually serves residents and visitors. The Science School's mission is “...to awaken a sense of wonder and inspire environmental stewardship through natural science education" by offering school programs, summer youth science camps, adult seminars and year-round interpretive programs.

WHEELS FOR EAGLE
Created in 2006 to help local non-profits with their transportation needs, the program's passenger van assists local groups in getting to and from their activities.

BRUSH CREEK COMMUNITY GARDENS

GYPSUM AMPHITHEATER
Featuring nationally known talent performances at the annual 'Gypsum Daze' festival, the Amphitheater is also a showcase for local musicians and community artists.

TOWN of EAGLE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Thursday summer nights in Eagle have become a tradition for music and a picnic fun at the town park, where entertainers from throughout the region perform in a casual atmosphere on the town's new stage. The concerts are helped, in part, by a grant from the ERF.

EAGLE RIVER YOUTH OUTREACH COALITION


Samaritan Center of the Rockies
The Samaritan Center of the Rockies (SCR) is a non-profit counseling center in Edwards, Colorado that  provides mental health care at affordable rates to all regardless of their ability to pay. The community based program furnishes professional counseling, educational and consultation resources for individuals, families and organizations.

Boy Scouts of America
The Eagle River Foundation has worked with the Boy Scouts on several projects over the years. See some of them here.
